Somalia summons its ambassador to Sudan over alleged fight
Somalia has recalled its ambassador to Sudan following what it termed as ’unfortunate incident’ within the embassy amid reports of a scuffle.
Foreign Affairs Minister Isse Awad ordered ambassador Mohammed Isaaq Ibrahim and his first advisor Osman Ahmed Mohamed to return to the country in four days.
In the letter seen by HOL, Awad instructed the two officials to return home over ’the unfortunate incident’ at the embassy. He did not, however, mention the nature of the incident.
However, reports in Sudanese local media allude to a scuffle between the two officials. HOL could not independently verify the allegations.
According to the Minister’s order, the two were given four days; between February 21 and 25 to make way home. The second advisor, Ahmed Ismael Hussein will be in charge, the letter reads in part.
